Georgia
QSO Party
Above all, get on the air and make contacts and have a good time
at it.
Logging...
See the Log Programs page for the logging software and other downloads.
GA stations always
send their county, even to other GA stations.
You will get credit for
GA
as a state Mult automatically in
the final score
Go ahead and log the dupes... scores will be adjusted on
final.
Leave all QSOs worked in the log, Invalid or other errors
will also be picked off at final.
Get your log in by May 15th, this date is constant even
thought the party moves a week or two some years.
Below are some Tips, an example of a
Cabrillo File.
-
Logging. PLEASE Use a computer; send in an Cabrillo format log file.
We receive printed files for logs.
Please don’t print them, send the files as email attachments
instead. We accept many forms
of files. Preferred are
Cabrillo, Text, and such. Excel
spreadsheets are OK in most cases, just put all of the contact info on each
line entry. Do not use dittos
or blanks; fill each QSO in completely, all the details.
Do not send Mac files. Please
use a computer to send in any entry with more than a few contacts.
If you are a member of a contest club, or a dx club this should be
“given” requirement.
-
Name
your file entries as “mycall.log” for the log files, and
“mycall.sum” for the summary sheet.
You do not need to put GQP or GQP2002 in the name, as we already know
that.
-
Put the
county or state in a separate field.
Don’t put colons in times, and use UTC.
Get the date right for all entries.
-
Contact
scoring: You can work a station
on each band and on each mode from each new location that the station goes
to. This means that the GA
rovers are good for new points each time they change counties, change bands,
and change modes.
-
Multipliers: The multipliers are added up on a overall, per mode. When it is all
done; you count the different multipliers from the overall log, once each
for CW and once each for Phone. The
total multipliers will be the sum of the Phone and CW overall unique
multipliers.
-
GA
stations should not count GA counties or DX as multipliers.
GA stations can count GA as a state multiplier this is often
forgotten. Don't worry, GA stations
will get GA multiplier credited. Out of state
stations count only GA counties, and not DX or other states.
Use the official county list from the web site for the proper county
abbreviations. Do not spell out
the counties. Please use the abbreviations in all situations.
-
Before
you email the file, look at it and see if you can read it, if it has all the
dates right, and if all the lines have full info.
See if the file makes sense to you.
Give the file a name that has your call included.
